Our Story

Every company has a beginning. Ours didn't start with software, venture capital, or a business plan. It started on construction sites.

Long before BRO Builder became a company, years were spent working in the field— framing homes, coordinating crews, reading plans, solving problems, and learning firsthand what it takes to deliver successful construction projects. Those experiences shaped our understanding of the industry and established a simple philosophy: the best solutions come from the people who perform the work.

As BRO Builder grew into commercial construction, so did the complexity of our operations. Estimating became larger, project documentation expanded, subcontractor coordination became more demanding, and communication across multiple trades required a more structured approach.

We searched for technology that could support the way we actually worked. While many solutions addressed isolated tasks, none reflected the workflows, priorities, and day-to-day realities of our construction operations. Instead of changing the way we built projects, we decided to build technology that adapted to the way construction really works.

That decision became BRO Engine™.

Originally developed as an internal platform, BRO Engine™ helped our team improve estimating, organize project information, coordinate subcontractors, manage documentation, and streamline communication across active projects. Every feature was created to solve a real operational challenge experienced by our own crews and project teams.

As the platform matured, another opportunity became increasingly clear. Every week we encountered more construction opportunities than we could realistically pursue ourselves. Some projects required trades outside our scope, others conflicted with existing schedules, and many deserved qualified contractors who were simply unaware they existed.

Rather than allowing those opportunities to pass by, we chose to open the platform to other contractors.

That decision gave rise to Contractor HUB.

Contractor HUB was never intended to replace relationships or make construction decisions on behalf of its users. Its purpose is to create an open marketplace where contractors can publish opportunities, recruit subcontractors, submit proposals, discover qualified companies, and build lasting business relationships. Every contractor remains free to decide who they work with, while the platform simply provides the tools that make those connections easier.

Behind every interaction is BRO Engine™, continuously supporting the flow of information throughout the platform. From estimating and contractor matching to proposal tracking, notifications, and workflow automation, the technology exists for one reason: to help construction professionals spend less time managing information and more time building projects.

Today, BRO Builder remains what it has always been—a construction company. The difference is that our experience no longer benefits only our own projects. Through Contractor HUB and BRO Engine™, the lessons learned in the field now support a broader community of contractors working together to build stronger businesses, stronger partnerships, and stronger communities.
